Maintaining coach certification
Certification Maintenance
Professional development and lifelong learning are the keys to successfully maintaining a high-quality learning environment for equestrians as a coach or instructor - at any level. Therefore, in order to maintain certification, NCCP Certified Coaches and Instructors are required to participate in ongoing professional development.
The instructor/ coach is responsible for maintaining their current status. It is not the responsibility of the NLEA or EC. The individual must arrange, attend, and submit the appropriate paperwork to the NLEA office (coaching coordinators) to ensure their coaching status remains as “current”. The professional development requirements are available on the EC website and in The Locker.
Failure to maintain current status can result in re-certification process.
Please visit EC website for complete details on certification maintenance.

Coaching Policies
Each PSO may also have policies unique to each province. Please review the most current supplemental NLEA coaching policies.
Concussion Management
The NLEA is very committed to safe sport and endorses and follows the Return to Play policy identified by Equestrian Canada. All coaches and instructors are encouraged to follow and enforce the policy.
